Chalkboard paint

I'm thinking of refinishing a craigslist dresser for the boys' room with chalkboard paint. I've never worked with chalkboard paint before! Is there anything I should be aware of? I'll sand the dresser well to prep the surface, but I'm unsure if it's recommended to sand between coats, like with other types of paint. Thoughts or experiences?

You will 100% need 2+ coats in my experience, because of the matte texture it seems to just soak into whatever surface you are paint it onto. I wouldn't sand between coats unless their are really noticeable flaws.

Yeah, it's the matte-ness I was thinking about, that sanding between coats might make it look weird. I will make sure I buy enough for at least two coats. Thanks!
